the phone is ringing, run!

The beautiful thing about the Asian mentality is that the minute the phone rings, they drop everything and run to pick up the phone. That includes running out from the bathroom with hair and body dripping wet to trek down the stairs and across the living room to retrieve that ringing phone.

There is just no way in heck that they will ignore a ringing phone and leave it unanswered. Why is that? Why is it so important to pick up the phone? I used to think this is a thing with the older generation (is it??) because in their time, the phone was a new contraption. Not everyone had a phone and if you had one, you'd better answer it by hook or by crook! Even if it kills you!!

charm bracelet

Do you have a gold coin charm bracelet? I've always wanted one of those when I was a kid. It's nice the way they clink together at the slightest hand movement.

Of course, it would be much better if they were real coins hanging on the charm bracelet. Well, if they were, you would be able to find out what they are worth at the United States Gold Bureau website.

Who knows, you might be wearing a string of fortune on your wrist then!! Well, to be honest, no one would actually know if those coins are real or not unless they are experts.

unspeakables

I think parents should seriously start taking up to what's happening to their kids these days. Sad to say, the girls are getting sluttier each year and are doing all sorts of atrocious things behind their parents' backs.

Suffice to say, these are things that we would never dare talk about when we were teens, things that are done behind closed doors by people who have been licensed to be together, if you catch my drift.

appreciate his talent

I don't know what's the fuss about Adam Lambert? I like the guy and I like his songs but I know many people don't like him because he's gay.

Well, I say, just because he's gay has nothing whatsoever to do with his singing talent. I think sometimes people get carried away with the person and his preferences rather than his creative talent.

gold, not stamps

Were you a gold coin collector in your childhood days? I wasn't but I wish I were. But like many of you, I was an ardent stamp collector but where has that gotten me?

I've got books of stamps which aren't worth anything near as much as a gold collection. See what happens when you don't know what's gold and what's not (LOL)?

Well, if you don't want to make the same mistake our parents made, go find out more about gold investing at United States Gold Bureau and start your kids collecting gold coins instead of stamps.

drivers with attitudes

I've written about our drivers from hell more than once. So many accidents these days, people getting killed by the dozens, it's a health hazard to even step out of your house, I tell ya. And why not? We've got a nation of drivers with bad attitudes.

Today I arrived at a T-junction to find 2 motorcycles parked smack in the middle of the road with their engines running, having a friendly chit-chat. They saw me but continued chatting anyways.

Don't you just love our attitudes?

do you celebrate Halloween?

I notice lots of stores have their Halloween displays out. I'm just wondering exactly how many people celebrate Halloween here? I mean, gimme a break! I don't think half the folks here even know what it's about, not to mention forking out a ton of money to buy those ghoulish costumes.

need to make more moolah

I did so much shopping while I was overseas recently. But now it seems I didn't do enough. I'm still talking about what I didn't buy and what I want to buy next time I go. Things there are so much cheaper, better quality and the variety is amazing.

Looks like I'm going to need to start planting some gold bullion so I'll have enough money to go on a big shopping spree when I go there again. I've started making a shopping list which includes a Coach bag though I may well end up not buying one since it's so popular among the Chinese aunties here. I wouldn't want to be seen carrying the same kind of bag as them and be mistaken for an auntie LOL!

brilliant colors

I just bought 4 bottles of nail polish for my daughters and me. Brilliant colors! Love 'em. Trouble is I just cut my nails, dang it, on the very day I saw those pretty colors. So now I have to wait for my nails to grow out a little before I paint them. My daughter's already painted hers and I can't wait to do mine! Gah!

chipped chips

We just finished chomping on a bag of chips. Of course, the chips here are second-rate. Well, at least it was not overly-salty so I guess we should be grateful. But the chips were all broken due to poor shipping and handling, but still as customers, we just shut up and swallow it all! Isn't this a great place to be?!

oh no, my toy collection!

My friend's daughter is so cute. She loves playing with her mom's gold accessories. She would climb up on the dresser and empty out all the trinkets and spend hours putting on the earrings, necklaces and rings.

She's only 4 years old so she has a bit of a problem distinguishing between the front and backs of earrings and sometimes wears them backwards LOL.

One day, she overheard her mom saying she was going to melt the gold into bullion and she was sad for a whole day. Although she doesn't fully understand what it's all about, she was sure she was going to lose her 'toy' collection.

laughs

I love a good laugh. These days, it seems I'm laughing so much. My girls are always cracking me up, or I'm cracking them up, I'm not sure which!

Last night, I decided to pull a fast one on them by playing a Justin Beiber song. Seeing as how much we detest that guy and his pathetic squeaking and pancake hair, it was such a shock to them and we ROFL like crazy!

far-fetched

Bah, I'm back to life as I know it. Is there no limit to rudeness, people? Is there no limit to idiotic behaviors? Is there no limit to chinapekness? Guess not, who am I kidding really?

It's even worse now that I've recently experienced friendly folks everywhere, store staff who greet you and apologize if they run out of stock on something you need and who wave you a cheery good day as you leave the store.

Sometimes I wonder if we're even living on the same planet, so far-fetched the discrepancy?!!

is this the lawsuit you need?

Let's face it, no one wants to be sicker after taking the very medication that's supposed to make them better. But hey, apparently that's what's happening with Accutane which has been found to contribute to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Pretty awful, if you ask me.

If you know of anyone who has been similarly affected, you could suggest they consult the attorneys at O’Hanlon, McCollum & Demerath who are now handling a similar Accutane lawsuit. They are an experienced team with years of handling cases like these who can advise you on what's the best thing to do.
