I'm tired. But it's not me. It's the weather. It's so hot it's draining the energy out of me. I can't be outdoors for more than a minute before the sun starts to singe my skin. Duh!
Yeah, okay, so it stormed last night. But that did nothing to help except increase the humidity so we all feel more sticky. We're practically like giant walking tubes of glue (LOL).

gossip time!
Guess what? We have an invitation to a relative's housewarming tonight and off the top of my head, I can think of ten other places I'd rather be than spending the evening listening to gossip. I'm never in the mood for gossip and family politics.
But I have to be there. Otherwise I will get an earful and frankly I'm not in the mood for that either. So I'll just go, plonk myself down somewhere obscure and just stuff my face with food. If anyone talks to me, I'll just look up with my mouth full and go hmmmph. Sounds like a plan (LOL).

dreaming of freshly-baked bread
I was looking at some Easter bread recipes thinking how long it's been since I last baked bread at home. The aroma of freshly baked bread that fills the kitchen is the most wonderful thing ever. Those were the times when I would just wake up in the morning all inspired to get started on the whole process of handmade bread. I don't have a bread machine but I won't be getting one anytime soon either.

working at a spa
A mommy friend of mine recently told me she's working part-time at a spa. Her husband has been unemployed for some years now and I guess she'd trying to fill in for him. Right now, she's seeing to the odds and ends around the spa, helping out the customers with their little requests and so on.
But down the road, if finances are not a problem, she says she might consider joining one of those cosmetology schools in kansas or wherever so she can turn professional. Makes sense too. These days, everyone wants to look beautiful for as long as they can. So it would certainly pay off to go for a formal course and turn that into a profession later.
like a log
I slept like a log last night. Must be all this blogging, my eyes get tired really easily and I'm out like a light the minute my head touches my pillow. But then again, I've always been known to something of a sleepy head. Which is why, I guess, many of my working friends think I must be having afternoon naps every day now that I'm staying home with the kids. Wrong!
menu planning now
Woo-hoo, one more day to TGIF. It's going to be a busy weekend for us so I'd better plan next week's lunch menus early. I need to go groceries Saturday and going by experience, I'm going to miss buying a few ingredients if I don't have my shopping list ready by then. That said, I'd best get cracking!

leave us behind
With the economy the way it is, my dreams of taking All inclusive family vacations this year have all but fizzled out into humble staycations. You can go on your fun-filled, sun-bathed summer on the Riviera Maya without us because we're staying home and maybe making just a couple of short trips to visit some friends out of town.
But that's all we can afford right now. It's a good lesson too for the kids about financial management and I hope they learn something about budgeting and sacrifices from all this. We will make it up to them later when the economy improves but right now, I think it's better to conserve our money and not overspend, know what I mean?
the zoo is just next door
I took a peek out my window at the remodeling going on at my neighbor's and guess what greeted my eyes? OMG, the whole house has turned into a zoo!! The new neighbors have installed grills everywhere which means the house now looks like a series of animal cages!! Gag!
thursday, friday...
Whew, can't believe it's Thursday tomorrow! Yep, we're definitely edging closer to the weekend and I'm likin' it (lol) because me and the kids have some big plans to go to the PC Fair and to the movies.
We haven't been to the movies in months. Trying to cut back, I guess because it costs a fortune to go to the movies these days. But hey, we got our hands on some free movie tickets this time so why not?
new toys
It feels great after my workout this morning. I'm very happy that I'm finding the time to work out at the gym several times a week. Recently they've upgraded the equipment at the gym that I go to and added some new treadmills and other machines.
The pedal exerciser is pretty popular and we used to have to wait to use the few they had because they were always fully occupied. The owners of the gym must've heard our secret wish and ordered more machines from Allegro Medical.
I've tried most of the new equipment except for a few that I'm still trying to figure out. All my gym buddies are happy with the 'new toys' as we were just starting to get in a rut for a little while back there.

longing for some peace and quiet
When was it that I mentioned that my new neighbors were renovating their house? Let me see, wasn't that way back at the beginning of last month when I blogged about it? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was.
Well, guess what, the remodeling crews are still at it. This evening, they were still knocking away at 7pm. I could still hear them while I was having dinner. I can't see them because there's a tree blocking my view so I can't see how extensive their renovations are.
No, honestly how long does it take to renovate a small little house like that? It's been over a month and there's still no sign of the noise letting up any time soon. There's been no peace in the neighborhood since the knocking and drilling and hammering started.
The funny thing is I've almost never heard or seen the new neighbors come in to check on the progress of their house. Don't they even care?
Frankly I can't wait for the day when I hear the truck from the Moving Company bringing the neighbor's stuff in. It would be so nice to be able to sleep in on the weekends again. Or even to take a rare afternoon nap or two.

wallpaper surprises
It's April Fool's Day. Very timely that my youngest daughter has finally admitted she's the one who's been changing the wallpapers on our PC's. We've been trying to catch the culprit for days and basically pointing fingers at each other.
She puts all the wierdest and ugliest rock singer's photos as our wallpapers to give us all a shock when we turn on our monitors!! It's been really fun booting up and jumping back in shock at seeing yet a different wallpaper!! What fun LOL!
