When I'm in a bad mood, people just seem to get on my nerves even more. I asked my daughter's mother to help me pick up my kids after school and she said she couldn't because she's just found a job.
I know for a fact that her husband picks up her kids so I was hoping she would be kind enough to ask her husband to help out. After all, he's been unemployed for years and is so free I see him waiting outside the school every day.
Strangely since the day I asked her for help, I notice her husband hasn't been picking up their kids any more. Trying to hide from me in case I waylay him and ask him for help? The extent some people would go to. I guess these are not folks you want to be friends with.
When she couldn't find the right size for her son's uniform, I offered her my son's brand new pair and she refused. When I brought cakes to her house, she gave them back to me and asked me to take them back. Go figure!

it's not worth your time getting worked up with people like this. at least you're clear about where you stand. i tell you, jirans these days have got no rukun tetangga feeling liao. not like when we were kids or our parents' time when neighbors help each other out.
